What We Believe about…

GOD

The LORD is JEHOVAH God, eternal, and “One God and Father of all.” “God is a Spirit” and must be worshiped “in spirit and in truth.”  He exists simultaneously as Father, Son and Holy Spirit and deserves our wholehearted worship.  (Exodus 6:3; Psalm 83:18; Isaiah 12:2, 26:4) (Deuteronomy 33:27; 1 Timothy 1:17) (Ephesians 4:4-6) (John 4:24) (Matthew 28:18-19; Luke 3:21-22; 2 Corinthians 13:14; John 4:21-23)

JESUS

Jesus is “Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.” He and the Father are One. He is the only begotten Son of God, is the true God, Who took on the form of humanity, was conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of the virgin Mary, lived a sinless life on Earth, was crucified, buried, and resurrected. (Isaiah 9:6) (Matthew 11:27; John 8:19, 10:30, 14:7-12, 17:11, 21; Hebrews 1:5; Revelation 3:21) (Psalm 2:7; John 3:16, 18; Hebrews 1:5, 5:5; 1 John 4:9, 5:1) (1 John 5:20) (Philippians 2:7) (Matthew 1:18-25; Luke 1:30-35) (Philippians 2:5-11; Colossians 1:15-20; Hebrews 1:1-4)

GOD’S HOLY SPIRIT

The Holy Spirit is the Spirit of the LORD JEHOVAH. He is the Comforter sent by God to dwell in the lives of God’s true followers. He bears witness with the true followers of God that we are God’s children. He empowers true followers of Christ to carry out the work of the Father on earth. He teaches us and leads us into all truth concerning Jesus. (2 Corinthians 3:17-18) (John 15:26) (Romans 8:16) (1 Corinthians 2 and 12; Romans 12) (John 16:13)

THE HOLY BIBLE

The Bible is the holy, inerrant, infallible word of God. Every verse in the 66 canonized books of the Bible is considered Holy Scripture. In order to effectively and honorably teach the written word of God, each counselor and teacher at Daughters of Christ Ministry, Inc. must foremost read to understand God’s word and walk obediently according to God’s word. (Psalm 12:6) (2 Timothy 3:16-17; 2 Peter 1:20-21; Hebrews 4:12; Psalm 19:7-11; Romans 15:4) (Ezra 7:10; Proverbs 3:1-8; John 14:21; 2 Timothy 2:15)

MAN AND SIN

Man was created in the image of God but disobeyed God, causing sin to enter all humanity through Adam.  All sinners deserve death.  God’s remedy for sin under the New Covenant is via the sacrificial shedding of Christ’s blood, which Jesus shed on the cross of crucifixion.  All believers in Christ who sincerely confess their sin by faith to God are forgiven by Him.  Their confession of their sin is done with the godly sorrow, humility and contrition over their sin that leads them to repent (turn away from) a sinful lifestyle with a simultaneous turning to Christ for new life in Him. (Genesis 1:26, 2:17, 6:5; Psalm 14:1-3, 51:5; Jeremiah 17:9; Romans 3:10-19, 5:14, 8:6-7; Ephesians 2:1-3; 1 John 3:8) (Romans 3:23, 6:23) (Matthew 26:28, 27:35, 28:5; Mark 15:25; Acts 2:23, 36; Romans 3:25; Hebrews 9:22; Revelation 11:8) (1 John 1:9) (2 Corinthians 7:9-10; James 4:7-10, Acts 3:19; 2 Corinthians 5:17)

SALVATION

It is only through and by Jesus Christ that humans can be saved eternally. There is no amount of good works a person can do to be saved; true faith in Christ Jesus is the only way of salvation. True salvation is permanent. It is a wonderful gift that should never be taken for granted; we must “work out” our “own salvation with fear and trembling” while on earth. (John 14:6, 17:3; Acts 4:10-12) (Ephesians 2:8-9; Hebrews 11:6) (John 10:28-29; 1 John 5:13) (Romans 6:23; Ephesians 2:8-10, Philippians 2:12)

THE CHRISTIAN LIFE

“The just shall live by faith.” We must live out this life with and from an eternal perspective. Our love for God will be evident in the way we love fellow Christians and all other people. Our life in Christ is marked by good works. Our “good works” follow salvation versus being a prerequisite for salvation. (Habakkuk 2:4; Romans 1:17; Galatians 3:11; Hebrews 10:38) (Colossians 3:1-3) (John 13:35; Romans 12:10; Galatians 5:13; 1 Peter 1:22) (Ephesians 2:10; Philippians 2:12)

THE FUTURE

Christ Jesus will soon return to gather all saints in Christ to be with Him forever more. For the unbelievers left on Earth, there will be a seven-year Period of Tribulation. This will be followed by the Second Advent of Christ and then the 1000-year reign of Christ on Earth. After the 1000-year (millennial) reign, all saints in Christ that persevere to the very end will spend eternity with God in the Kingdom of Heaven. (1 Thessalonians 4:16-17) (Daniel 9:24-27, Matthew 24:21) (2 Thessalonians 1:7-9, Matthew 25) (Revelation 20:1-10) (Revelation 21:1-22:5)
